The South Carlina State men’s basketball team will tipoff off the 2024-25 campaign in exhibition play Tuesday (Oct.29) versus neighboring Claflin in the “Battle of the Burg” inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
Coach Erik Martin in his 3rd season brings back nine (9) veterans to a very experienced team in the likes of Preseason All-MEAC performers graduate guard Omar Croskey and point guard Mitchell Taylor.
Also returning to the team along with Taylor and Croskey are Michael Teal, Caleb McCarty, John Seay-Oliver, Wilson Dubinsky, Drayton Jones, James Morrowand Davion Everett.
The Bulldogs welcome six (6) newcomers this season with the likes of Florian Tenebay, Colin McKenzie, Jayden Johnson, Jamal Miles, Roko Maric, D’Shay Wright.
Last season the Bulldogs finished 14-17 overall, 9-5 in the MEAC, while during the preseason SC State was picked to finish 5th in the preseason race.
South Carolina State opens the regular season on Monday, Nov. 4th at home versus Morris College inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
